Beschreibung
Cassia fistula Linn. belongs to Family Leguminosae, Sub - Family Caesalpineae, a common plant from India is known for its unique medicinal properties. This plant is used in folk medicine for tumors of the abdomen, glands diseases etc. The plant parts shows major chemical components like Rhein and Catechin. The authentification, extraction and isolation of different chemicals from C. fistula were done by standard methods. The animal trials were done mainly CNS activity of C. fistula, CNS activities of C. fistula in combination with two fungi and Students organ bath were done, gave promising results. Phytochemical tests showed significant results. In the antimicrobial activity Cassia samples showed remarkable results against some species of bacteria.
