Beschreibung
This book gathers together essays by international cultural scholars, including a small group of academics within the growing, interdisciplinary area that is cultural studies on the Iberian Peninsula. The contributors to this volume use the idea of unofficial knowledge(s) as an interpretive device to reflect on forms of power within culture(s). The contributions are divided into two parts: part one includes papers which focus on a variety of cultural products or practices in order to explore ideological issues like class, race or ethnicity, sex or sexuality and to link them to questions of representation, identity and power. In part two there is a group of studies that shares these thematic concerns but has grown out of socio-linguistics, pragmatics, critical discourse analysis, intercultural relations research and ethnographic analysis. von Walton, David
