Yuri Choi was born in Seoul, South Korea, and from the age of three, she appeared in over two dozen feature films, numerous television programs, theater productions, commercials, and she also emceed live TV shows and events including the 1988 Seoul Olympics. She was considered the “Shirley Temple of Korea” thanks to her charmingly cute visage and natural acting ability from such a young age. She attended college in the United States, where she earned a degree in psychology with a minor in theater in only three years. Upon graduation, she returned to Korea and worked as an emcee, making a great contribution to the modernization of broadcasting culture in Korea. Due to the events outlined in this memoir, like a bolt of lightning out of nowhere, Yuri was dramatically forced to leave Korea. She settled for a while in Japan, where she dedicated herself to learning Japanese and starting a new life.
