Beschreibung
The Deichtorhallen Hamburg are dedicating a large-scale exhibition to the South African artist William Kentridge, which was conceived and organized by Zeitz MOCAA in Cape Town in cooperation with William Kentridge. Kentridge deals with themes such as social injustice, the history of South Africa, colonialism, family, migration and expulsion using a wide variety of media. At the beginning of his artistic practice, however, there is always the drawing, which is the central medium of the exhibition. The accompanying catalog contains a foreword by the General Director of the Deichtorhallen, Dirk Luckow, a comprehensive interview between William Kentridge and the Director of the Zeitz MOCAA, Koyo Kouoh, as well as 14 short texts on the exhibited groups of works with selected examples of pictures. Texts by: William Kentridge, Koyo Kouoh, Tammy Langtry, Dirk Luckow, Sven Christian von Luckow, Dirk
