Staffing the unit is essential in ensuring maximum outcomes for both staff and clients of healthcare services. Ensuring adequate skills mix, numbers and quality of staff enable clinical leadership and positive workplace climate to promote advancement and quality healthcare. Staffing the units with adequate number of nurses has always been a challenge that managers of healthcare always battle with especially in developing countries such as Ghana. Dr. Adelaide Maria Ansah Ofei is a senior lecturer and head of department at the School of Nursing and Midwifery, University of Ghana. Her research interests are Leadership and governance in health, nursing administration, human resource management, training, public health and the nurse manager. She has been lecturing for the past ten years.
