Beschreibung
When Luis Buñuel's L' Âge d'or was premiered on November 29, 1930, it hit a raw nerve, having a potent effect on the audience through its radical and sometimes scandalous imagery. Banned for fifty years, Buñuel's early Surrealist masterpiece continues to exert an enormous influence on the artistic medium of film. L' Âge d'or is based on the structure of the Surrealist game of the cadavre exquis and consists of six individual, linked sequences. Following this format, The Scorpion's Sting presents original reinterpretations of these episodes by the international contemporary artists John Bock, Chicks on Speed, Keren Cytter, M + M, Julian Rosefeldt, and Tobias Zielony. Created specifically for this joint project, their works are radical creations, documented by extensive illustrations and original film scripts included in the publication.
