»International Legal Obligations of Armed Non-State Actors Towards Internally Displaced Persons. The Case Darfur« Public international law is no longer only intergovernmental law, but also serves the interests of the individual. Thus, today national issues such as situations of internal displacement caused by non-international armed conflicts, situations of generalized violence and violations of human rights are subject to international law. International legal obligations of armed non-state actors towards internally displaced persons follow from international humanitarian law, human rights law and international criminal law. The Darfur conflict serves as a case example to illustrate the matter.
