Email is, without a doubt, the lifeline of many companies, but it can be an administrative challenge and a dangerous vehicle for spreading viruses and spam. The Book of Postfix offers a practical approach that will satisfy experts and novices alike, allowing them to administer and manage this modern, open source email server developed by IBM engineer Wietse Venema. Whether using Postfix in a small office setting, as a mail relay, or as a company mail server, you´ll learn exactly what you need to get the most out of this powerful mail transport tool and its valuable security features. The authors are highly respected Postfix experts who pooled their vast Postfix expertise to create a single volume full of technical information, documentation, and answers to frequently asked questions. This book covers the most common uses for Postfix as well as less common functions, and includes practical examples that illustrate how to deal with daily challenges, such as protecting users from spam and viruses, managing multiple domains, and allowing roaming access. The Book of Postfix will show you how to: ° Filter spam and viruses ° Integrate with OpenLDAP, MySQL, or PostgreSQL ° Restrict mail transport based on blacklists, network origin, mail client, and much more ° Authenticate users ° Encrypt with TLS ° Automate daily tasks The Book of Postfix brings clarity to a complex topic and examines all the angles without bogging readers down in extraneous content. Information is presented in a logical format that will make sense to any Postfix administrator, and the clear, straightforward writing is appropriate for all levels of Unix/Linux admininstrators.
