Beschreibung
Malaya, 1941. As the wife of a plantation owner, Connie Hadley¿s life appears pampered and comfortable. But the attack on Pearl Harbour changes everything. Forced to flee, the Hadleys and their friends set sail to Singapore on The White Pearl, but they are devastated when they learn that Singapore has fallen. As fear strips away good manners, tensions arise on the yacht and anger causes divisions between friends. In desperation and short of food, they are captured by a pirate ship and its Malayan crew. Sailing from island to island, constantly in fear of their lives, the crash of a Zero fighter plane into the sea and the rescue of its Japanese pilot changes Connie¿s life for ever . . . von Furnivall, Kate
