Beschreibung
The Ukrainians have been described as cossack punks, playing a fast and furious, vodka-fuelled blend of high energy British indie and traditional Ukrainian folk music, and the band's 'Festyval' DVD collects together 30 videos, short films and rare live performances spanning their extraordinary 30 year career. Included on the DVD: * studio videos for a number of songs from the band's most recent, critically-acclaimed album 'Summer in Lviv'. * home-made videos featuring footage shot by band members at their respective homes during the first lockdown. * short films by two promising up-and-coming film directors that see the band doing their best at some serious acting! * a fabulous folktale-inspired animation by an award-winning Polish film student. * videos made three decades ago that include historically significant footage taken in Ukraine at a time when the country had only just gained its independence from the Soviet Union.
