Beschreibung
In the search for bioactive compounds, 32 fungal strains were isolated from Indonesian marine habitats. Ethyl acetate extracts of their culture broth were tested for cytotoxic activity against a urinary bladder carcinoma cell line and for antifungal and antibacterial activities against fish and human pathogenic bacteria as well as against plant and human pathogenic fungi. Bioassay-guided fractionation led to the isolation of bioactive compounds. Altogether 14 compounds were isolated and further elucidated. The compounds were obtained from the ethyl acetate and dichloromethane extracts of six fungal strains. They included 9 polyketides, 2 terpenes, 1 alkaloid and 2 till now undefined structures. von Tarman, Kustiariyah
