.Teachlnq and Learning in Real and Virtual Worlds" was the motto of the 2nd IGIP Regional Conference. This conference was hold at the University of Wuppertal (Germany). Thirtyeight scientists from Poland, Czech Republic, Hungary, Switzerland, The Netherlands and Germany rnet there to discuss newer developrnents and research results in the area of engineering education. The conference was organised by Prof. Dr. Hans-Bernhard Woyand in cooperation with the International Society for Engineering Education (IGIP), the German Association of Engineers (VDI) and the Bergisch Institute for Product Developrnent and Innovation-Management. Most of the contributions dealt with rnodern technologies used for engineering education. Topics like E­ Learning, Blended Learning, WEB 2.0, AJP:X and Wikis were discussed. But the motto of the conference combined these rnodern themes with other topics of engineering education (Experiences with the Bologna process, sustainable education, interdisciplinary teaching). At the end of the conference there was a round table dialogue. Fifteen participants discussed possibilities for cooperation in bilateral and european programmes.
